In the early morning hours of August 28, 2024, the life of 43-year-old Nicholas Bland was tragically cut short in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Police responded to reports of gunfire on Central Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Bland in a front yard, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive as officers began administering aid until medical personnel could take over.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The Hot Springs Police Department swiftly initiated an investigation into the shooting. Their efforts led to an arrest in connection with the deadly incident. The case was determined to be a homicide, and Bland’s death was attributed to gun violence.
Nicholas Bland Sr., a resident of Hot Springs, was a father to two sons, Nicholas Jr. and Quinton, and a daughter named Anxious. He was also a grandfather to one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tamra Bland, and his brother, Marcus Bland Jr. Friends remembered him as a good and wonderful person who looked out for others. A celebration of his life was held on September 10, 2024, at the Hot Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
