Esperanza Elizabeth "Espie" Chavez, a 25-year-old woman from Salt Lake City, Utah, was tragically murdered on January 20, 2024. She was in a relationship with Fred Jason Edwards, 47, for approximately eight months prior to her death. Edwards, who had an extensive and violent criminal history, including numerous entries in his juvenile record and time spent in federal, state, and local prisons and jails, was the perpetrator of the crime.
