On January 13, 2017, 48-year-old Louann Magera Anderton was fatally shot by her estranged husband, 47-year-old Nolan Lee Anderton, in a parking lot in West Valley City, Utah. The incident occurred just days after the couple had settled their divorce on January 9, 2017, with final paperwork pending.
