On the evening of October 5, 2023, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 3900 block of Sherman Street NE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the parking lot of The Pointe at Cedar Rapids apartment complex, three men were discovered with numerous gunshot wounds. Two of them, 21-year-old Maurice Brown and another 21-year-old, Myron Snyder, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third individual, 25-year-old Cameron A. Leonard, was also seriously injured in the altercation.
