In the early spring of 2020, a shooting in Phoenix claimed the life of 61-year-old David Mendoza, a Hispanic male. On the evening of March 24th, police responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of 5th Street and Broadway Road. Arriving at the scene around 8:30 p.m., officers discovered Mendoza lying in the street, having sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
