On October 24, 2017, Michael Ray Lamb, a 52-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased alongside his sister, 55-year-old Sharon Lamb, in their shared residence located in the Argyle Forest neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the scene on Collins Ridge Boulevard after receiving a call from the siblings' elderly mother, who discovered their bodies upon returning home from the hospital.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators noted no signs of forced entry, though foul play was immediately suspected.
The initial investigation revealed that the home had experienced prior incidents, including a burglary and a missing person report within the preceding six months. A significant detail emerged regarding a missing safe from Sharon Lamb's bedroom, known only to a select few individuals, including her son, Andrew Lamb, and his girlfriend, Angela Craigo.
Andrew Lamb, 36 at the time, was arrested the day following the discovery of the bodies on unrelated drug charges after police found hydrocodone pills in his residence. Despite his arrest, authorities initially stated that he was not a suspect in the double homicide.
Nearly two years later, on September 19, 2019, a grand jury indicted Andrew Lamb on two counts of first-degree murder, as well as charges of armed burglary with assault. At the time of the indictment, he was already serving a five-year sentence for an unrelated burglary conviction. Prosecutors have not disclosed whether they intend to seek the death penalty in this case.
Michael Lamb's death was among the numerous homicides in Jacksonville in 2017, a year during which approximately 70% of such cases remained unsolved.
