On November 3, 2016, Anthony Ramirez, a 24-year-old resident of Yuma, Arizona, was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance at the Lothlorien Apartments. The incident began when Ramirez and his girlfriend were arguing in their first-floor apartment. An unidentified passerby, who was carrying an unconcealed gun, intervened in the argument and shot Ramirez in the chest.
