In the early morning hours of a quiet Sunday in Yuma, Arizona, the stillness was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On December 29, 2019, Monico Rico, a 37-year-old Hispanic man, was found shot and fatally wounded. The incident, which also claimed the life of 28-year-old Angel Torres, unfolded on 14th Avenue, between 9th Place and 10th Street, leaving the local community in a state of shock and fear.
