On December 29, 2019, Monico Rico, a 37-year-old resident of Yuma, Arizona, was fatally shot along with another man, 28-year-old Angel Torres, in a violent incident early Sunday morning. The shooting occurred on 14th Avenue between 9th Place and 10th Street. A 911 caller reported hearing a man crying for help and described hearing seven gunshots. The caller also witnessed a black truck fleeing the scene, although it is unclear if this vehicle is connected to the crime.
