On January 30, 2023, Luis Navarrete, a 35-year-old man from Yuma, Arizona, lost his life to gun violence. The incident occurred outside the Alement Bar in Downtown Yuma during the early morning hours.

Navarrete was one of two victims in a double murder. The other victim was Francisco Lopez, a 41-year-old man. Both men were shot and killed in the same incident.
