On December 7, 2017, Frederick Douglas Wilburn Jr., a 34-year-old African-American male, was involved in an officer-involved shooting in Tucson, Arizona. The incident began when two detectives from the Arizona Department of Public Safety attempted to pull Wilburn over for reckless driving and failure to obey a traffic control device near the intersection of Craycroft Road and East Speedway Boulevard.
