On April 6, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Glendale police responded to reports of gunfire near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Jorge "Daniel" Marmolejo-Jurado suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of La Rubia y la Morena bar. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Marmolejo-Jurado was pronounced dead at the scene.
