Keith Zerbell Johnson, a 27-year-old Black man, was walking northbound on 27th Avenue when he was approached by an unknown individual. In a sudden act of violence, Johnson was shot. The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m., shattering the night's calm.
Responding Phoenix police officers arrived at the scene to find Johnson in extremely critical condition, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life.
