In the summer of 2020, a visit to a Phoenix convenience store took a tragic and fatal turn, ending the life of a beloved clerk. Thirty-year-old Abdul Rustamzai, a male of Caucasian descent, was shot and killed on June 22, 2020, following a dispute in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven where he worked at 99th Avenue and Indian School Road. Rustamzai, who had been a dedicated employee at the store for five years, was a husband and a father to two children.
