In the winter of 2021, a young man's life was tragically cut short inside a bustling Phoenix shopping center. Seventeen-year-old Alejandro Martinez was shot and killed on February 14, 2021, at the Desert Sky Mall, located in the area of 75th Avenue and Thomas Road. The incident, which also left a 20-year-old man with serious but non-fatal injuries, sent shockwaves through the community and left a family grieving an unimaginable loss.
