In the early morning hours of November 6, 2021, the life of 24-year-old Adam Lee Emmern was tragically cut short in Prescott, Arizona. Police responded to a call at an apartment complex near Rush and Sheldon streets around 3:15 a.m. and discovered Emmern suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led Prescott Police to arrest 26-year-old Dakota Austin Young in connection with the incident.
Young was subsequently booked into jail and faced a charge of second-degree murder. At the time of his arrest, authorities stated that they were not seeking any other suspects. There were several other individuals present in the apartment at the time of the shooting who were questioned by investigators as they worked to piece together the events that led to Emmern's death.
The case has been documented as a homicide, and the suspect, Dakota Austin Young, was the sole individual charged in the fatal shooting of Adam Lee Emmern.
