On May 13, 2018, 44-year-old Christopher Ryan Scoggins of Surprise, Arizona, was fatally shot in Prescott. Scoggins, a U.S. Air Force veteran and firefighter captain, was visiting Prescott with a group of motorcyclists from the Phoenix area. During the visit, he confronted 39-year-old Michael Ryan, who had allegedly inappropriately touched a female member of their group.
