Murdered

On December 11, 2021, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the Phoenix Police Department responded to a call in the area of 13th Avenue and Madison Street. Initially, the call was reported as a traffic collision, but upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had driven off the side of the road with no signs of a collision. Instead, they discovered an adult male driver, identified as 69-year-old John Matthew Scales, with an apparent gunshot wound inside the vehicle.
