On August 28, 2022, a tragic incident occurred at a house party near South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, resulting in the deaths of 21-year-old cousins Robert Puentes and Xavier Martinez. The party, which was attended by over 100 people, turned violent when shots were fired in the backyard. Upon arrival, police found three people with gunshot wounds; Puentes and Martinez succumbed to their injuries, while the third person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
