On a day in late autumn, November 25, 2022, a grim discovery was made on the shoulder of a road in Goodyear, Arizona. Inside a white Ford Expedition parked near the intersection of MC 85 and Cotton Lane, authorities found the bodies of 54-year-old Jorge Guadalupe Rodriguez-Leyva, a Hispanic male, and a 48-year-old woman named Violeta Amado-Correa.
