In the crisp night air of a February evening in 2023, 18-year-old Jeremiaha Austin was walking home with a family member in Phoenix, Arizona. Their path took them near 14th Street and Baseline Road, a familiar route that would tragically become the final steps of a young life. Without warning, the stillness of the night was shattered by the sound of a gunshot.
