On May 26, 2023, 41-year-old Nicholas D. “Nick” Arnstad was found dead next to a canal in the Phoenix area, specifically near 24th and Oak streets, south of Thomas Road. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m..

Arnstad's death was linked to a series of shootings committed by 20-year-old Iren Byers. Byers, who was later arrested and confessed to the crimes, told investigators that he shot Arnstad because Arnstad was "abusing fentanyl," a drug that Byers' brother had also abused. This ...Read More
