In the early morning hours of June 4, 2023, the city of Tucson, Arizona, became the scene of a violent crime that cut short the life of 46-year-old Rahsann Avant. A Black / African American man, Avant was found deceased by Tucson Police officers around 1:00 a.m. The circumstances of his death were immediately clear: he had been the victim of a deadly shooting.
