In the early morning hours of November 12, 1999, a violent encounter on the streets of Washington, D.C. claimed the life of 18-year-old Nathaniel Holmes. A male, he was driving in the 1600 block of Brentwood Road NE when individuals in two other vehicles opened fire on his car. Despite being struck by at least one bullet, Holmes managed to continue driving, a testament to his will to survive.
