On November 11, 2023, a deadly shooting occurred at a home near 79th Avenue and Peoria Avenues in Peoria, Arizona. Walter Mitchell, a 52-year-old man, was found dead inside the home with gunshot wounds. His wife, 42-year-old Susie Ephrem, was also found with life-threatening injuries from being shot and was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
