On March 11, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in a residential neighborhood of Casa Grande, Arizona, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Steve Shinault. Shinault was shot multiple times in the torso and succumbed to his injuries.

The shooting took place in the presence of Shinault's 16-year-old daughter, and it is reported that he attempted to protect her during the incident. The suspect, identified as Marcus Hatton, fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
