He was discovered outside a residence on the 16000 block of Centerfield Drive, following a welfare check request at about 3:30 a.m. Cosby had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Anchorage Police Department treated the situation as a suspicious death and later classified it as a homicide.
The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit; APD made no arrests immediately after discovering the body. As of the time of those initial reports, no suspect had been identified or charged in connection with Marcus Dushun Cosby Jr.'s death.
Despite public appeals for information, including anonymous tip lines, and some residents reporting hearing gunshots around midnight in the vicinity of Wood River Park Apartments, there has been no available evidence—at least in public sources—that any arrest was made or that any suspect was publicly named in the homicide.
