Richard P. Randall, a 19-year-old White male, was shot and killed in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Sunday, November 29, 2015. The incident, which marked the city's only homicide of that year, took place at a party at a residence near 48th and M Streets.
During the party, two men were shot. Richard P. Randall Jr. succumbed to his injuries. The investigation that followed led police to identify Brandon Benson as the shooter. Benson was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities also arrested several other individuals for their involvement in the crime.
Known to friends and family as "Ricky," he was born on October 30, 1996. His life was cut short before he was able to graduate from high school. He had plans to enlist in the Marine Corps and was scheduled to start boot camp in May 2016. At the time of his passing, he was a resident of Omaha, Nebraska.
