Ronald Blake Heritage, a 50-year-old White male, was found dead inside his northeast Lincoln home on May 15, 2016, along with his girlfriend, Tina Jensen, 53, and their longtime friend, Norma Voges, 55. Family members checking on Jensen went to the house near 67th and Bethany Park Drive and discovered two of the bodies before police arrived and found the third; a firearm was recovered inside the residence.
Police said Heritage and Jensen were in a dating relationship and living together, and that Jensen and Voges had gone to the home to collect some of Jensen s belongings.
Within days, Lincoln police publicly confirmed that the case was a double murder suicide: investigators determined that Heritage shot Jensen and Voges and then turned the gun on himself. Officials emphasized they were not searching for additional people and did not believe there was a threat to the public. All three worked for the U.S. Postal Service, and relatives described Voges as a close friend to both Heritage and Jensen.
No arrests were made, and authorities identified no outstanding suspects beyond Heritage, whose death was ruled self-inflicted in the course of the murder suicide. Police accounts and early reports noted that autopsy results were pending at the time but that evidence at the scene supported the determination announced by investigators.
