On January 11, 2017, at approximately 2:37 a.m., the "ShotSpotter" system in Omaha, Nebraska, detected gunfire in the vicinity of 3615 Laurel Avenue. This incident would later be identified as the shooting that claimed the life of 28-year-old D'Angelo Branch in northeast Omaha.
