On a summer night in Lincoln, Nebraska, the life of 26-year-old Martae Green, a Black/African American male, came to a violent end. The events of July 24, 2019, began to unfold as a home invasion at the residence of 34-year-old Audrea Craig. Green was one of several individuals who forcibly entered her home. In the ensuing chaos, Craig managed to shoot Green before her own firearm malfunctioned. Despite being wounded, Green returned fire, fatally shooting Craig.
