On August 8, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., law enforcement officers were called to a residence in Broadwater, Nebraska, where they discovered 57-year-old Rodney Eugene Bennett deceased. The Nebraska State Patrol reported that a family dispute had escalated, leading to Bennett's death. His son, Joseph Bennett, was arrested at the scene.
