On the late evening of Wednesday, May 29, 2024, tragedy struck in a parking lot in Omaha, Nebraska, claiming the life of 31-year-old Larozion Reis. An African American male, Reis was discovered by Omaha Police officers who were responding to a report of shots fired in the vicinity of 39th and Maple Streets. Upon their arrival, they found Reis suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Omaha Fire paramedics provided immediate care and transported Reis to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts and the medical attention he received, Larozion Reis was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The preliminary findings indicated that his death was a result of the injuries he sustained in the shooting.
The Omaha Police Department has since launched a homicide investigation into the death of Larozion Reis. At this time, details regarding a motive for the shooting have not been released to the public. Law enforcement officials have not yet identified any suspects in connection with the incident, and no arrests have been made.
