On July 14, 2021, at approximately 9:40 p.m., New Castle County police officers responded to reports of a shooting on Balfour Avenue in the Knollwood community of Claymont, Delaware. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds: 27-year-old Nathan T. Smith, a 16-year-old male later identified as Jasir Brown, and a 19-year-old female.
