On the morning of August 23, 2024, at approximately 10:27 a.m., New Castle County Police responded to reports of a shooting at the Harbor House Apartments in Claymont, Delaware. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Devontre Taylor of Wilmington suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
