On January 14, 2019, 35-year-old Kary Dill was found shot to death in the home she shared with her long-term boyfriend, 37-year-old Dwight "Jay" Osgood Jr., in Clifton, Maine. Initially, Osgood claimed that Dill might have slipped and struck her head while attempting to load their wood stove. However, during his arrest, he acknowledged shooting her, stating, "It had to be me."
