Michael Ren, a 30-year-old Montana Highway Patrolman, was tragically killed in the line of duty on April 8, 1978, near Boulder, Montana. He was assisting a Lincoln County Sheriff's deputy in serving felony warrants on a recently released mental patient who had violated the terms of his release.
