Shelley Hayes, a 28-year-old resident of Missoula, Montana, was tragically murdered on March 14, 2019. Her body was discovered in her apartment by her boyfriend, who immediately called 911.

The Missoula Police Department launched an investigation and quickly identified a suspect, Emmanuel Gomez. Gomez and Hayes had been in a previous relationship, and investigators believed the murder was motivated by jealousy and revenge.
