Joseph Randall Ray, a 33-year-old resident of Vaughn, Montana, was tragically killed on July 15, 2021. His death, which occurred near a residence on Montana Secondary Highway 200, was ruled a homicide.

Initial reports indicated that Ray had been shot. However, the Cascade County Sheriff's Office later clarified that he died from blunt force trauma. The investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, 34-year-old Brandon Lee Craft, who was charged with deliberate homicide.
