JoAnn Malone, a 55-year-old resident of Great Falls, Montana, was tragically killed on March 17, 2023. Her death was ruled a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds. The Cascade County Sheriff's Office released Malone's identity after an autopsy was conducted.

The suspect in the shooting fled the scene, leading police on a pursuit to Pondera County where he ultimately took his own life after a standoff with law enforcement. Authorities have not released the suspect's name.
