Robert Bishop Jr., a young man traveling through Idaho, was tragically murdered on April 1, 1981. He encountered Randy McKinney and his girlfriend, Dovey Small, who were hitchhiking. Bishop offered them a ride, a decision that would prove fatal.

McKinney, who was armed with a .22 caliber revolver, robbed Bishop and then shot him. The crime occurred near Arco, Idaho. McKinney and Small were later apprehended, and McKinney was convicted of first-degree murder.
