On February 19, 2017, in Preston, Idaho, 15-year-old Corbin Adrian Hillaker was tragically killed in a murder-suicide orchestrated by his stepfather, 37-year-old Tate Lee Spillett. The incident occurred at the family home, where Spillett fatally shot Corbin and his two half-siblings—6-year-old Jessica Spillett and 7-year-old Tate McKoy Spillett—while they slept. After committing the murders, Spillett took his own life.
