Bryan Jess Seward, 46, a white male from Pocatello, Idaho, died on October 4, 2014, after a violent encounter with police escalated from a routine traffic stop into a high-speed chase through the city. During the attempted stop, Seward fired at an officer and fled, drawing law enforcement into pursuit.

Witnesses in a Wilson Avenue mobile home park reported hearing gunshots moments before Seward sped into the neighborhood and crashed into a mobile home. Investigators said that before the ...
