On December 17, 2014, 25-year-old Christopher Reese was fatally shot during a robbery at the Jacksons Food Store in Notus, Idaho, where he was employed as a clerk. Two masked gunmen entered the store, immediately shooting Reese before using a handcart to remove a safe from behind the counter. The assailants then stole Reese's vehicle from the parking lot. Both the safe and the vehicle were recovered a few hours later off Purple Sage Road, north of Caldwell.
