On November 4, 2017, 51-year-old Christopher J. Shewokis of Sandown, New Hampshire, tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting incident. While target shooting at the Deer Run Wildlife Management Area in Brentwood, New Hampshire, Shewokis was accompanied by an adult friend and a juvenile. During the session, as the other adult was adjusting the targets, Shewokis loaded a Ruger .22 revolver and handed it to the juvenile, providing instructions.
