On a Sunday night in Burlington, Vermont, the life of 38-year-old Hispanic man Steven C. Martin was tragically cut short. On April 26, 2020, at his residence on North Avenue, Martin was fatally shot in a violent home invasion.
Around 11:30 p.m., the Burlington Police Department received a distressing call reporting that two men had forcibly entered the apartment, followed by the sound of multiple gunshots.
Witnesses reported seeing two male suspects flee the scene in a black vehicle immediately after the shooting. Responding officers discovered Martin with serious injuries. He was rushed to the University of Vermont Medical Center, but tragically, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
