On September 29, 2019, 19-year-old Berta Pereira-Roldan from Revere, Massachusetts, was fatally shot while celebrating her birthday in Providence, Rhode Island. She and her friends had traveled to the city to enjoy a night out at Club Noah on Detroit Avenue. As the club closed around 2 a.m., the group exited the venue, planning to continue their celebration elsewhere. While outside, Berta was struck by multiple gunshots, leading to her untimely death.
