On August 24, 2019, in Providence, Rhode Island, 48-year-old Berta Hudson was fatally shot by her estranged husband, 50-year-old Oscar Hudson. The incident occurred on Charles Street, where Berta had been visiting relatives. After the shooting, Oscar fled to his nearby apartment, where he subsequently took his own life.
