On a tragic day in May of 2017, the life of Christopher Janis, a 42-year-old Oglala Lakota man, was cut short on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The events of May 27th unfolded near Sharps Corner, where Janis had arranged to meet with three men: Clarence Yellow Hawk, Jamie Shoulders, and Scott Benson. The purpose of their meeting was reportedly a drug transaction.
