On April 1, 2023, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, 39-year-old Alec Lee Dillon was fatally shot. According to court documents, Dillon and Trent Brewer had been drinking together when an argument ensued. The confrontation escalated as they walked to Brewer's residence, where Brewer retrieved a firearm and shot Dillon multiple times.
