Serena Spider, 26, a Native American woman from Rapid City, South Dakota, was found late on the night of May 3, 2023, after gunfire shattered the quiet near the intersection of Lacrosse Street and East Omaha Street. Police were dispatched around 9:00 p.m., and she was discovered on the ground in the grass near the area between Lacrosse Street and Brennan Avenue. She was rushed to a local hospital, but she did not survive the gunshot wound.
